Folkologie Rylstone is proudly owned by Emily, who took over the store in September 2023, bringing a lifelong passion for homewares, interior styling, and small business to life. Owning a store like Folkologie has always been a dream — one built on a love of beautiful, meaningful spaces.

A sixth-generation local, Emily was born and raised in the Rylstone-Kandos region. Her connection to the town runs deep, with her sixth great-grandfather known as “Saddler Jim”, establishing his saddlery business in Rylstone in 1886 — a legacy of craftsmanship and community that continues to inspire today.

Nestled on the edge of the World Heritage-listed national park, Rylstone is rich in charm and natural beauty. Folkologie sits along the Main Street of this historic sandstone village, overlooking the picturesque Cudgegong River — a setting that perfectly reflects the store’s aesthetic.

Folkologie is thoughtfully curated retail space, offering a collection of locally and globally sourced pieces. Each item is carefully selected to complement the store’s style, with a focus on unique, artisan, and handcrafted goods.
